Bug 78

Summary: Couldn't set 1920x1200x32 video mode: No video mode large enough for 1920x1200
Product: SDL Reporter: esigra
Component: videoAssignee: Ryan C. Gordon <icculus>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE QA Contact: Sam Lantinga <slouken>
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Version: 1.2.8
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux

Description esigra 2006-01-24 03:56:53 UTC
This has been discussed on the mailing list:
http://www.devolution.com/pipermail/sdl/2005-December/071672.html
Ryan C. Gordon looked at the code and came to the following conclusion:
"Ok, I looked, and there's an obvious answer: we only support up to
1600x1200. :/

It could probably Just Work if someone adds it to checkres and
vesa_timings at the top of src/video/fbcon/SDL_fbvideo.c, though."

Since nothing has happened since then I add the issue to this bug tracking system so it does not fall into oblivion.

We already put this in Bugzilla, for this very reason. :)

It was Bug #23, which I think we decided was handled by the addition of an /etc/fb.modes parser.

Thanks for fixing :-) So I just have to wait for the release of 1.2.10 then.

Setting Sam as "QA Contact" on all bugs (even resolved ones) so he'll definitely be in the loop to any further discussion here about SDL.
