Bug 626

Summary: Text rendering produces no text in OpenGL games
Product: SDL Reporter: Lauri Kasanen <curaga>
Component: *don't know*Assignee: Ryan C. Gordon <icculus>
Status: RESOLVED INVALID QA Contact: Sam Lantinga <slouken>
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Version: 1.2.13
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Attachments: Showing malfunctioning SDL text rendering

Description Lauri Kasanen 2008-09-14 03:23:45 UTC
In games using both SDL and OpenGL the text is either not shown, or only the bottom part is shown (depends on the font). Screenshot of Extreme Tux Racer pasted.
(note: it does not use SDL_ttf)

I'm not sure if this is a SDL bug or X bug; googling suggests SDL, so here I am. If it's X-related, please tell me go bug them.

System:
fully 64-bit LFS
Matrox G450 PCI card with open-source mga 1.4.9 driver (latest)
DRM is from 2.6.24.7, I think it's the latest (mga 3.2.1 20051102)
X.org 7.2
SDL 1.2.13

I have direct rendering and GLX working, glxgears and non-sdl games do 3d and text fine.

X bug, sorry to have bothered you.

Here's the link where SDL was claimed to be the cause:
