Bug 587

Summary: OpenGL pro could not start on Linux in Chinese
Product: SDL Reporter: Xianghu Zhao <njutiger>
Component: videoAssignee: Ryan C. Gordon <icculus>
Status: RESOLVED WONTFIX QA Contact: Sam Lantinga <slouken>
Severity: normal
Priority: P2 Keywords: target-1.2.14
Version: 1.2.13
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux

Description Xianghu Zhao 2008-05-23 10:34:16 UTC
I run SDL in Redhat Linux Enterprise 4.6, Chinese interface. But all program using OpenGL just block immediately after start. I debugged it and found something wrong at
XDestroyIC(), line 507, file \video\x11\SDL_x11video.c.
So I tried to select English interface to log in, and everything OK!
I have not tried other Linux version.
Comment 1 Xianghu Zhao 2008-05-23 23:45:51 UTC
I have tried other languages, including Chinese Traditional, Japanese. They are all OK.
I switched to Fedora 8, still OK.
Maybe there is conflict of input method in Redhat Enterprise 4.6 of Chinese Simplified.
Comment 2 Ryan C. Gordon 2009-09-13 16:33:06 UTC
Tagging this bug with "target-1.2.14" so we can try to resolve it for SDL 1.2.14.

Please note that we may choose to resolve it as WONTFIX. This tag is largely so we have a comprehensive wishlist of bugs to examine for 1.2.14 (and so we can close bugs that we'll never fix, rather than have them live forever in Bugzilla).

Comment 3 Sam Lantinga 2009-09-21 01:13:36 UTC
Please test this out in SDL 1.3 and reopen the bug if it's a problem there.
