With recent Xcode and iOS 13.4 you get following warnings

Unbalanced calls to begin/end appearance transitions for <SDL_uikitviewcontroller: +address+>

Simple test is the fireworks Demo (from hg or SDL 2.10.12). This happens with both a real iOS device and the simulator.
