I run into 

configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --enable-music-midi-fluidsynth-shared

when using --enable-music-midi-fluidsynth-shared=no

However ./configure --help yields

  --enable-music-midi-fluidsynth-shared
                          dynamically load FluidSynth library [[default=yes]]
