Midi music playback comes out very distorted and full of static on x86_64.  Playing the same midi file on i386 plays cleanly.  I've been able to reproduce this on Fedora Core 4 and Fedora Core 5.

Ah hah.  This seems to be fixed in CVS.  Is there an ETA for a 1.2.7 release?  If not, then would you object if I make a patch from CVS for Fedora so that we can fix the problems reported there?  The CVS page for SDL requests that the CVS files are not redistributed, so I thought I should ask first.

Wow, Fedora is still shipping 1.2.6?!  We are up to 1.2.9 in releases, and it's literally years of development past 1.2.6.

Resolving this bug since it is apparently fixed on our end. Please tell Fedora to update their RPM, we'd appreciate it.

Fedora is shipping SDL 1.2.9, but this bug is with SDL_mixer, which is still at version 1.2.6:

SDL_mixer 1.2.7 will be released soon after SDL 1.2.10, hopefully in the next month or so.
