Here is a patch to get libsdl to compile against libX11 1.5.99.902.
used this patch http://bugzilla.libsdl.org/attachment.cgi?id=1078&action=edit for libsdl 1.2 to figure out the issue.

compiles on gentoo amd64 with the steam overlay version of libsdl 2.0.0-pre7238 ebuild.
