Debian contains the following patch since May 2008.  I don't know if it's been reported to upstream and I am doing it now in the case that it's useful.

I cannot fully understand how it can play Ogg files without linking.  (Note that we --disable-shared on ogg, flac, etc for Debian packages).

Can you please comment?
